A message claimed it had my passwords and demanded crypto. No proof. I changed key passwords anyway from a clean device. What else is sensible without feeding panic?

Many of these are bluffs. Still: unique passwords, stronger sign-in, and ignore the payment demand.
I scan devices with official tools only and avoid “fixware removal” links from the extortion email.
